Brazilian striker Yago, who plays for Gangwon FC in professional soccer K League 1, was at the center of controversy in this summer's transfer

market.

Ryu Ki-tae, the representative of Ryu Sports and the agent in charge of the loan contract between Yago and Gangwon, said in a phone call with

Yonhap News on the 30th that he is in the process of filing a complaint against Yago with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association

(FIFA).

CEO Ryu included not only Yago but also Agency B, which was at the core of the 'transfer dispute' between Gangwon and Ulsan HD, in the complaint.

It is not common in the world of football for an agent to directly sue FIFA for a player they represent.

Representative Ryu stated the reason for his decision to file the lawsuit, saying, "I think that Portimonense, which looks down on Korean professional

soccer, Yago, which made a selfish choice, and Agency B, which exploited a loophole in the FIFA clause, should all be criticized."

Yago, who played for Portimonense in Portugal, joined Gangwon on loan for the 2023 season and is playing very well with 8 goals and 1 assist in 17

games this season.

Yago's lease expires this month.

Accordingly, Gangwon sent a transfer agreement to the original team, Portimonense, through CEO Ryu, who represented Yago. Gangwon claims that

they believed the transfer would proceed smoothly as a verbal agreement was reached.

But the expected response from Portimonense did not 합법 come.

This is because Portimonense was conducting separate negotiations with Ulsan through another agency, Agency B, rather than through

Representative Ryu.

In the midst of this, Portimonense accidentally sent a document meant for Ulsan to CEO Ryu, and he learned of the situation in Gangwon-do.

Representative Ryu claims that Company B has the authority to handle Yago's transfer, but does not have the authority to negotiate the details such as

salary negotiations.

According to FIFA regulations, a player like Yago can negotiate directly with the club without going through an official representative such as

Representative Ryu.

However, CEO Ryu believed that it was impossible for Yago to directly negotiate terms with Ulsan, and filed a lawsuit against Yago and Company B,

claiming that they had violated FIFA regulations.

Gangwon-do, which judged that Yago knew all of these circumstances, also withdrew from the recruitment campaign, saying that it felt betrayed.

Ulsan's position is that they pursued Yago's recruitment through fair competition in the transfer market.

It is up to Portimonense, his original team, to objectively consider the conditions proposed by each club to decide where to send Yago.

Gangwon said, "There is no problem with Ulsan's recruitment attempt according to the regulations," but expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that

foreign clubs carried out player transfers against K-League teams in a non-transparent manner.

Gangwon CEO Kim Byeong-ji said in a YouTube live broadcast on the 27th, "I was not happy because a domestic K-League club found out that the

rental contract was ending and skipped the agent and negotiated directly with the club. I hope that does not happen.
